COMMUNITY minded artists can make their mark at Chelsea railway station.
The Chelsea and Bonbeach Train Station Group members want passionate local artists to join efforts to transform the station through art.
Group president Paul Coniglio said the aim was to make the station more attractive and safer for commuters.
“The talk in our group has been about creating something really iconic for Chelsea,” he said.
“We want it to be something contemporary that contributes to the community in a positive way.”
Mr Coniglio said the group was a great way to make friends and contribute positively to enhancing Chelsea station.

Kingston Mayor Steve Staikos is urging all City residents to use the pt4me2 public transport poll to have their say about public transport before 30 April.
The pt4me2 poll is a project of the Metropolitan Transport Forum (MTF), which represents 18 Melbourne Councils on transport issues. The MTF will be collating the survey results and presenting them to all the major parties before the state election.
“With the State election coming up in November, now is a crucial time to raise public transport issues,” said Mayor Staikos.
Mayor Staikos said that public transport safety and efficiency were two of the local issues being surveyed.
Kingston residents should visit website www.pt4me2.org.au to have their say. The survey closes 30 April 2010.
